6th Grade Camp

Last week Waterford Middle School Sixth Graders attended Sixth Grad Camp at Old Oak Ranch above Sonora.  The students were accompanied by counselors from Waterford High School.  They all participated in activities including a survival hike led by Mr. Chimente, a plant trail led by Mrs. Brionez, an animal trail and archery led by Mr. Breshears, arts and crafts led by Ms. Parman, cooperative games and tomahawk throwing led by Mr. Beck and Miss Petroni, and compas led by Mrs. Musso.  They also enjoyed square dancing, campfire songs, and special performances from Mr. Weichert, Mrs. Woody and Mr. Holtz.  A great time was had by all!

SCHOOL RECONFIGURATION

In preparation for the 2012-13 school year, the district plan is to move 6th grade to Lucille Whitehead School and to transition 3rd grade to Moon School.  This concept will allow current 3rd through 5th grade students to remain at LWIS for an additional school year.  LWIS will be an intermediate school with grades 4th through 6th.  This plan will change Waterford Middle School to a Junior High School.
